Stephen Barry

Stephen G. Barry is the assistant vice president of strategic relationships and global solutions at Voya Financial© (formerly ING Employee Benefits), where his responsibilities include managing the relationship with the top national brokerage and consulting firms for Voya  Employee Benefits, as well as securing life, disability, medical and retirement solutions for the foreign national employees of U.S. multinational clients. He has a particular expertise in creating cost-effective, cross-border U.S.-Canadian benefit solutions for local nationals of each country. Stephen is the former head of the U.S.-based team of ING Global Network, where his team’s responsibilities included assisting North, Central and South American multinational companies with the pooling of their U.S. and overseas employee benefit programs. Prior to joining Voya, Stephen had responsibility for the U.S.-based global relationships of the Swiss Life and AIG/Winterthur pooling networks. He started his career as a consultant at Watson Wyatt and has extensive experience in the competitive review, design and costing of U.S. and international employee benefits programs. Stephen is a frequent speaker on global retirement and employee benefits topics and is the longest serving member of the faculty of the Global Benefits Management course for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He is a graduate of The University of Chicago with a degree in mathematics.
