Andrew Donelle

Andrew Donelle is a senior director in the tax legislation division at the Department of Finance Canada. He leads a team that is responsible for developing federal budget measures and income tax legislation that apply to all of Canada’s registered savings vehicles (including registered pension plans), retirement compensation arrangements, and Employee Life and Health Trusts. Donelle obtained a master’s degree in public administration from Carleton University and a master’s degree in tax law (LL.M.) from Osgoode Hall Law School. His 32-year career in “pension taxation” includes work at the Registered Plans Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency, pension actuarial firms in Toronto and Kitchener, and his current position in the Tax Policy Branch at Finance Canada.
