Christi Sherrill M.P.H.
Christi Sherrill is the program manager of the Rural Veterans Health Access Program (RVHAP), a three-year HRSA grant awarded to the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Center for Rural Health. Oklahoma is the only state to be awarded a second round of the RVHAP grant. This grant focuses on enhancing veteran-specific medical and mental health care services among rural communities in Oklahoma. She is the creator of the only veteran-related telehealth line in the nation. This telehealth line serves the OSU-Center for Health Sciences Project ECHO, which was launched in 2021. Her work focuses on public health and health promotion, with a concentration in veteran health and wellness. Ms. Sherrill has been a guest speaker at numerous statewide and national conferences, and she hosted several statewide veteran conferences. She is a member of multiple coalitions, including the Governor’s Challenge team, Mayor’s Challenge team, Wellness for Women Veterans & Their Families coalition, and Oklahoma Veteran Alliance. Ms. Sherrill currently teaches Alcohol and Drug Education, Principles of Epidemiology, and Noteworthy Populations (for medical residents and students) at OSU and Nutrition at Tulsa Community College. She has earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Dietetics and a master’s of public health degree in Rural and Underserved Populations. Currently, she is completing her master’s of science degree in Dietetics. Ms. Sherrill is also a Marine Corps veteran, which is beneficial to her work among the veteran community and within veteran organization partnerships. During her military service, she established several health promotion programs on multiple military bases to address overall wellness needs during and after service.
